The Christmas holiday is NOT complete without Christmas music. People begin listening to it as early as...gasp... October(shudder)! I on the other hand, like to take Christmas music in doses. A little here, and little there, you know, making sure I don't get burned out of it.
I wanted a little dose yesterday. The anticipation of putting on my favorite Christmas CD was so thick, you could almost cut it.  Imagine all of this- in slow motion for dramatic effect- I walk to the cupboard, open the right side door, and my hand goes to the second shelf. I grasp the CD case(remember slow motion) with great elation. I open the case and BAM! All my hopes and dreams, DASHED. My CD is not there. Oh the pain. Now speed up your minds eye for what comes next is all frantic. I searched everywhere. Boxes, shelves, closets and even in my food pantry(you never know) but alas, the search was in vain. I never found it....just when I was about to sink into despair and wallow in self pity, I remembered I-tunes. If only I had copied the CD, which come to find out, I DID! YES! My evening of folding laundry while listening to some of my favorite fellas sing about a holiday I enjoy- not ruined. I cannot imagine a Christmas with out the Rat Pack.  Thanks Frank, Sammy and Dean. Linked are 3 of my favorites, give your ears a treat!

I have the BESTEST sisters.

In this picture I am sporting 2 things I got from my sisters for my b-day. The first: My new cool shirt from Hermana Sorenson. Not only is it my favorite to wear color, but it says some spanish and features an egypt looking figure.
The second: My very own timbuk2 'hip pack'. Yes, you're eyes are not lying...that's exactly what it is. I wore it to the ward christmas party(thought about stashing extra rolls in there) and out in public for the first time. I pretty much love it.

My Nativity

I have been on the hunt for a Nativity for quite some time. I looked at website after website trying to find one that had all the requirements:
1) 3 wisemen, with one having some color
2) Sheep, donkey, cow and camel.
3) Shepherd
4) A removable baby Jesus
5) Mary and Joseph
6) The participants in the Nativity have colorful clothing
Those are the MUST have's for my Nativity. It was a hard long search, but I did it. I finally found one:

It is now on display in the front entry for all to admire. The Shepherd also doubles as a homeless man(like the Christ child was-go ahead and sing the song, I do). If you know anything about Playmobil, you'll know that all the parts are interchangeable. One day the Homeshep (homeless shepherd man) man could be wearing a crown or Joseph could have a long white beard.

The Bonus? One of the wisemen has a magic lamp!

I wear my sunglasses at night.

I recently acquired multiple pairs of the most awesome sunglasses ever. I had ordered them a couple days before and was eagerly waiting. I got home from work and woot woot, they had come! I COULD NOT wait until the next day to try them out- so I decided that "I wear my sunglasses at night" for not only did I go walking in them, but I picked up Poob and went to the Reams all between the hours of 6 and 8.

My hair was just way way to long. It kept getting all up in my face, and when the wind blew, so did my hair...SO I decided it was time for a change...drastic, bold, dramatic, fabulous and FIERCE! Hard for a hair style to do all of that, but I believe I found it:

The best part is the bottom is made fuller with my REAL hair! Matches perfectly!

Ok, ok. The YW were having a Halloween party, and lets face it, I look good in a mullet! One of the adult leaders kept saying 'I just can't take you seriously'.  I don't even know why....

Dracula verses....Jesus?

Over the weekend Mom, Poob and I went to the play "Dracula". I guess I'm not familiar with that particular story because I still don't really understand what actually went on. I kept expecting Igor to make an appearance, but that's Frankenstein not Dracula.
While the play was a little weirdy, most the acting was very good. It took us a while to figure out what we didn't like. The problem?? Dracula. I imagine Dracula to be like the picture to the right- Imposing, creepy, large widows peak, slicked back hair...etc etc. Instead, Dracula looked more like the picture to the left...Jesus. In the actors Bio, it mentioned that he has been in multiple church movies...we guess, as Jesus. I don't have any problems with Jesus making appearances in plays- but DRACULA...come on, that's a bit of a stretch.
The venue we were at, the audience is literally a solid 6 inches from the stage. The fight scenes are a whole-nother animal when they are happening right at your feet...literally! During the play they threw a necklace right at our feet and forgot to pick it up when the scene was over. Mom noticed and I got to actually pick it up and hand it to a stage hand, so pretty much I was in the play too!
