Nerf Wars

For Christmas, my dad got some nerf guns. They are little one shot air powered lovelies. He got 2, but 2 is not enough for all of us. Siwa and I went and got some...ours are 10 shot, semi -auto, battery powered, machines of death and destruction! We had an epic battle in which Siwa and I took on Dad and Poob. Their guns were no match, and we won!

Has anybody seen my jingle bell?

All growing up we had one giant jingle bell hung around the front door knob. Anytime during the Christmas season when the front door opened or shut, the jingle would accompany the motion. I LOVE it. To me that is one tradition that must continue. Last year, my mom, bless her, used the jingle bells to scare off the deer, ask her about that story. It's a good one. Of course it didn't work, and destroyed the jingle bells. TRAGIC!

I got hit with the crafty bug(which doesn't normally happen, so I gotta take advantage when it does) and decided to make some jingle bells.

Black Friday.

On my way to work this morning, at oh, say 5:50, traveling on the normal roads, I passed Joann fabric and craft store.   What is different about today is that passing Joann's, I also passed hundreds of people lined outside....at a FABRIC store. Later in my work day, while helping a couple, they started talking about that very store saying the cutting tables were awful. They got number 150 at about 6 am...the store at 10am was only to 25. The wait on that at that rate is 24 hours! FOR FABRIC!!

Rice krispies

While I understand that today's world is filled with lots of wonderful treaties, some I cannot even prononce let alone dream about making.  My skill level of cooking goes about as far as Rice Krispies.
Rice Krispies are one of the most simple treats. 3 ingredients! Every time I go to Chuck-a-Grandma I get as many as I can stomach.
The history of these little ditties go as follows:

Kellogg's had created Rice Crispy cereal in 1928 and it was fine as far as cereals go, but in 1939 when Mildred and her friend Malitta needed an idea to help the Campfire Girls raise money...TADA- They put their heads together Rice Crispy Treats were born.

I made 2 batches and had enough self control to only eat one square as of last night. I cannot make any guarantees about today though. Merry Thanksgiving!

Lights shine BRIGHT

Siwa and I were lucky enough to go to a Lights concert. Her band got stuck in Colorado but instead of canceling the concert, she few out and did an acoustic concert. HOLY SMOKES! It was amazing. I hope she puts out an acoustic version of her songs. The best part is that she sounds the same live(maybe better??) as she does on her CD's. The above video is one of my favs. FOR SURE look her up and download all her music because she rocks.
